1.Technological innovation is the core battlefield of this decisive battle
Lithium-ion battery technology continues to break through, solid-state battery research and development has entered a critical stage, the industrialization process of sodium-ion batteries has accelerated, and long-term energy storage technologies such as liquid flow batteries and compressed air energy storage have continued to mature.
CATL, BYD and other companies will launch automotive-grade solid-state battery products, with energy density expected to exceed 400wh/kg, but the mass production process still needs further optimization.
The cost of sodium battery is 30%-40% lower than that of lithium battery, and its penetration rate in base station energy storage and low-speed electric vehicles may reach 15%. Datang, CATL and other companies have launched GW-level projects.
The price of all-vanadium liquid flow battery system is expected to drop to 2 yuan/wh, and the proportion of hybrid energy storage (liquid flow + lithium battery) projects will increase. Shipments in 2025 may exceed 2GW, helping grid-level energy storage.

Frequency-modulated energy storage power stations respond quickly to grid frequency changes to ensure safe and stable operation of the grid.
On the user side, industrial and commercial energy storage applications are booming. Energy storage systems can also serve as backup power sources to improve power supply reliability. For users such as data centers and hospitals that have high requirements for power supply quality, energy storage systems are even more indispensable.
The home energy storage market is in the ascendant. Household photovoltaics are paired with energy storage systems to enable home users to generate and use electricity on their own and reduce their dependence on the grid. Electric vehicle charging piles are combined with home energy storage systems to achieve intelligent interaction between car, home and network. In remote areas and islands, home energy storage systems provide clean electricity solutions for areas without electricity.
